ABOUT THE POSITION

The Business Development Director will lead business development and account management activities in Japan to develop a solid long-term presence, generating increased awareness and development partnerships. Their goal will be coordinating a team to expand Virtuos’ existing network to span all major game studios, generating leads and sourcing potential deals, and ensuring delivery of support services across both Art and Game divisions.   

Responsibilities
  • Direct Japan strategy and business development efforts.  
  • Evaluate business opportunities in cooperation with Virtuos’ production department, assisting in formulating proposals, then negotiating and closing contracts.   
  • Ensure delivery of services by holding regular calls and meetings with partners to monitor satisfaction and anticipate additional/future support needs.  
  • Represent Virtuos and build market awareness by regularly representing the company at key industry events and visiting partners.  
  • Work closely with and advise the MD North Asia on business strategy for Japan market development.  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or arts & science, MBA/MFA is a plus.  
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the media or digital entertainment sector.  
  • Ability to define a business development strategy and drive results by developing networks and empowering teams.   
  • Driven by success, has an outstanding track record and demonstrated ability to deliver results.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to present on technical topics in front of diverse audiences.  
  • A self-motivated and responsible individual, as demonstrated by past achievements in previous jobs.  
  • Passionate about the media and entertainment sector, with knowledge of video games and motivated to make a difference in a dynamic and fast-growing company.  
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and prioritization skills.   
  • Strong level of persistence in highly adverse and complex situations.   
  • Ability to travel (25%-30%)
