Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our dynamic team as a Business Development Manager, focusing on Digital Platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior sales professional ready to take on their next challenge and accelerate their career. In this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with key media companies, helping them leverage Nielsen's cutting-edge measurement and analytics solutions to drive their success.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the Broadcasters and Platforms segment.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with senior-level executives at target accounts, understanding their business needs and challenges.

  • Solution Selling: Proactively identify client needs and effectively position Nielsen's comprehensive suite of solutions, including audience measurement, content analytics, and advertising effectiveness, to address those needs.

  • Market Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies within the broadcasting and platform ecosystem.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product, operations, and client service, to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals and presentations that articulate the value proposition of Nielsen's solutions.

  • Negotiation & Closing: Lead contract negotiations and successfully close complex deals.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast sales pipeline and provide regular reports on sales activities and progress.

  • It's hybrid role - 3 days from office. Office is in Lane Cove, Sydney.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of proven sales experience, ideally within the media, advertising, or technology sectors, with a demonstrated desire to advance into a business development role.

  • A foundational understanding of the media landscape, including traditional broadcasting, streaming services, and digital platforms, with a keen interest in developing deeper expertise.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture client relationships.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
