Job Description

Join Avani Cypress Lakes Resort and help drive the next chapter of one of the Hunter Valley's most iconic resort destinations.

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - MICE to grow our corporate, meetings, incentives, conferences and events business.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent a premier resort destination and play a key role in driving revenue growth, securing new business opportunities and building long-term client partnerships.

Location Flexibility

  • Candidates based in the Hunter Valley will be based onsite at the resort five days per week.
  • Sydney-based candidates can work from our Sydney corporate office, with monthly travel to Avani Cypress Lakes Resort to maintain strong client and operational relationships.

About the Role

Working closely with the Commercial and Operations teams, you will:

  • Drive corporate and MICE revenue growth through proactive sales activity.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners and industry partners.
  • Grow existing accounts and maximise repeat business.
  • Conduct client meetings, site inspections and familiarisation visits.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and secure group bookings and events.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends and competitor activity.

Qualifications

You'll be a relationship-focused sales professional with:

  • Hospitality sales experience, ideally within the MICE or corporate market.
  • A proven ability to generate new business and grow key accounts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful sales strategies.
  • A passion for hospitality, events and creating exceptional client experiences.
