Job Description

At TAL, we’re committed to building partnerships that deliver long-term value for our customers and our business. As Business Development Manager – Mortgages, you’ll play a critical role in identifying, launching, and leading high-impact partnerships. Working closely with our Growth and Partnerships team, you’ll help bring innovative operating models to life—driving joint success with new and existing strategic alliances.

You will:

  • Drive new partnership opportunities from discovery through to launch, working closely with mortgage brokers, aggregators, and TAL senior leaders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, pricing, legal, technology, and marketing teams to develop and deliver innovative distribution models.
  •  Lead end-to-end business development processes, including opportunity assessment, commercial negotiations, and contractual execution.
  • Manage strategic partner relationships post-launch, ensuring joint objectives are met through clear governance, aligned operating models, and effective performance tracking.
  • Champion TAL’s presence in market, actively engaging with industry stakeholders and promoting our growth agenda at key events and forums.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the Australian financial services industry, with specific insight into the mortgage sector and broker distribution networks.
  • Solid grasp of regulatory and legislative frameworks governing the distribution of retail financial services.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking to develop and assess new business models within complex regulatory environments.
  • Experience in direct life insurance product development and the associated go-to-market processes.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and agile delivery methodologies to support successful technology and product launches.
