About the role:

Our Commercial team is currently seeking a passionate and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to join the Organisations Team, focused on building strong partnerships and driving growth across the Sydney/Metro region. With continued investment and expansion in our Commercial division, there’s never been a better time to grow your career at Bunnings.

Reporting to the Business Sales Manager, you’ll bring your experience in sales to actively pursue and convert new business opportunities while ensuring our Organisation customers receive tailored, value-driven solutions that meet their unique needs.

As a BDM, you’ll be responsible for identifying and executing strategic sales plans that align with our commercial growth goals. You’ll play a key role in both acquiring new business and growing value within our existing customer base, all while building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support long-term success.

What’s involved:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and strengthening our existing national preferred supplier relationships with key Organisation groups across the Facilities Management, Education, Government and Visitor Economy sectors.

A key part of this role involves engaging with

  • Leveraging our existing national preferred supplier relationships with key segments in the Visitor Economy sector. Liaising with existing groups and finding new to partner with. You will also engage with state bodies in these segments to develop and grow opportunities
  • Government and Education sectors at the local, state, and federal levels to deepen relationships and uncover new business opportunities. This includes developing strategic responses to RFIs (Requests for Information) that may lead to tendering for a wide range of government projects
  • You will also be responsible for account managing a portfolio of direct B2B and B2C customers, driving sales performance and ensuring sustained growth across these key segments
  • Working closely with the in-store Trade Team and Trade Specialists to develop and implement targeted growth strategies

What we're looking for:

We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to help drive the growth of Bunnings Trade by executing targeted sales plans and leveraging your deep knowledge of our extensive product and service offering. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with team members across the business to ensure our customers receive the best experience, price, range, and service.

You’ll have the opportunity to partner with some of Australia’s largest and most influential organisations, including government agencies, educational institutions, and travel and tourism providers. You’ll also work alongside our trusted suppliers to deliver exceptional value and quality to our customers.

You’ll need:

  • A proven track record of business development and sales in the relevant segments, including record of meeting sales quotas and allocated budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and contracts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
  • A passion for customer service and delivering value
  • High level of commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • COS & CCRM experience highly desirable
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Experience in B2B or commercial discipline highly regarded
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within your territory
