eShepherd is Gallagher’s virtual fencing technology for cattle, combining solar-powered neckbands, software, data and on-farm support to help producers move livestock remotely, manage grazing more precisely and operate with greater flexibility, precision and control.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive sales growth of the eShepherd product range across Australia. This is a true hunter role for someone who knows how to find opportunity, open doors, build a strong pipeline and convert interest into revenue.

You will work closely with the wider eShepherd team, including sales, customer success, marketing, product and regional teams, with a clear focus on targeting new customers, building strong relationships, positioning the value of eShepherd and closing sales.

What you’ll do
  • Drive new business growth by identifying, targeting and converting high-value opportunities.

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, taking ownership from first contact through to proposal, negotiation and close.

  • Develop trusted relationships with farmers, producers, partners, distributors and industry stakeholders.

  • Understand customer needs, commercial drivers and operational challenges, then clearly position the value of eShepherd.

  • Use consultative selling to tailor the eShepherd solution to individual farming operations.

  • Prioritise inbound leads and proactive sales activity based on opportunity size, readiness and likelihood of conversion.

  • Lead or support tenders, proposals, contract negotiations, key account opportunities and distribution agreements.

  • Use CRM and reporting tools to manage sales activity, forecasting and pipeline visibility.

  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing feedback and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.

  • Work with Customer Success to support smooth onboarding, retention and future upsell opportunities.

  • Share market insights with Sales, Product and Marketing to support stronger messaging, product improvements and regional growth.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring strong sales discipline, commercial drive and the confidence to sell a technology-led solution in a growing market.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience in business development, new business sales, territory sales, key account management or channel sales.

  • A track record of prospecting, building pipeline and converting opportunities into closed sales.

  • Experience in agriculture, AgTech, livestock, grazing systems, animal management or a related industry.

  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Confidence managing proposals, tenders, commercial agreements and customer conversations.

  • Strong CRM discipline and the ability to manage sales forecasting and reporting.

  • A results-focused mindset, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

  • An interest in beef cattle grazing management and the future of livestock technology.

Why eShepherd?

eShepherd is fundamentally changing how producers operate. Our customers are moving cattle remotely, managing grazing more precisely and creating grazing areas without building physical fences.

We’re a fast-growing AgTech business backed by Gallagher, a company that has been solving problems alongside farmers for more than 88 years.

As part of Team Gallagher, you’ll enjoy:

  • Competitive salary and annual incentive opportunity.

  • Career growth within a global technology company.

  • Innovative AgTech with real-world impact.

  • A supportive, practical and collaborative team culture.

  • Exposure to international teams, markets and growth opportunities.

If you want to build a market, win customers and sell technology that is changing the future of livestock farming, this is a rare opportunity to do work that matters.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled before the closing date.
