This isn't a dial-and-log-it BDR role. We're looking for someone who treats every prospect like a real person with a real problem, writes emails people actually want to reply to, and hands our AEs opportunities that are ready to go.

About Assignar

Assignar is a mission-led construction tech company. Sean McCreanor (co-founder and CEO) started Assignar in 2014 after running his own contracting business and finding there weren't any good tools for it. Today we work with hundreds of customers, from multi-million-dollar contractors to specialist crews.

We've found product-market fit. Assignar is the all-in-one platform leading digital construction operations for contractors: real-time visibility across jobsites, smart scheduling of workers to projects, equipment tracking, and data that shapes the next bid.

What does "own the top of the funnel" actually mean?

You'll sit inside the Sales team and be the first real conversation most contractors have with Assignar. You'll decide who's worth pursuing, start the conversation, keep it warm and set up the AE to win.

You'll report to Trent McCreanor (VP of Sales) and work closely with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers and Marketing. What you hear from prospects every day will shape how we go to market.

What you'll own

  • Qualify the right leads. Work inbound and outbound leads against our ICP scoring signals so the team spends time where it counts.
  • Start conversations that go somewhere. Run cold email cadences and cold calls that get replies, not unsubscribes.
  • Keep warm prospects warm. Nurture prospects between meetings with follow-up that's useful, not pushy.
  • Turn webinar attendees into pipeline. Follow up personally with attendees from our Sharpen Your Toolbox and From Field to Forecast series.
  • Set the AE up to win. Prep handoff briefs so every opportunity lands with full context.
  • Show up in person. Attend trade shows and industry events like CCF and association days, and meet contractors where they are.
  • Close the loop with Marketing. Share what's landing and what isn't in the weekly BDR sync.

Who you are

  • An experienced BDR. 2+ years in B2B sales development. SaaS preferred, and construction or trades experience is a bonus.
  • Quota-driven. You have a track record of hitting or beating your number.
  • At home in the modern sales stack. Salesforce, Salesloft and Clay feel familiar, and you use AI tools to research and personalise faster.
  • A sharp writer and communicator. The best BDRs at Assignar write emails that customers actually reply to, and they're just as good on the phone.
  • Curious about construction. You don't need to have worked in the industry, but you want to understand how contractors run their business.
  • Organised and self-directed. You manage your own pipeline, move fast and like being part of a supportive team.

Why Join

  • You'll be part of a company with real product-market fit and a clear market to go after.
  • You'll work directly with the VP of Sales and see how your work turns into revenue.
  • You'll get out to events and meet the people who use our product.
  • You'll be in a small team where your ideas about what's working get heard and used.

How we hire

We keep it quick and practical. We care about how you think, how you write and how you talk to people.

  • Apply via Breezy. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you've been working on.
  • Phone screen with Sophie, Head of People & Culture (30 min). Get to know each other and ask us anything.
  • Interview with Trent, VP of Sales (45 to 60 min). Your experience, how you prospect and how you work with a sales team.

What we stand for: Our Values

  • Do what's right
  • Customers are our why
  • Grow with purpose
  • One team

We value inclusion and welcome applicants from every background. If any part of this process needs to look different for you, let us know and we'll adjust.
