Oversees the development of plans, proposals, reports, creative briefs and other communication deliverables. The Business PR Account Director is a leadership role and responsible for people development. Works collaboratively across the agency and within the Dentsu business to ensure clients receive the best integrated public relations and communications solutions for their business.

The role:

As Business Director, Influencer and Social in dentsu Creative’s PR team, you will lead meaningful, high impact social, influencer and communications work that shapes brand fandom, drives engagement and builds communities.  In this senior leadership role, you will guide clients through complex issues, develop strategic, insight‑led social and influencer campaigns, and oversee seamless delivery.

You’ll partner closely with media, strategy, creative and production experts to deliver work that is purposeful, talkable and nationally recognised. With a blend of strategic counsel, relationship management and team leadership, this role is ideal for a seasoned communications leader who thrives in fast‑moving environments and is motivated by work that creates real impact.

This 12 month fixed term contract, hybrid-based role ideally in our Sydney office.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead major social and influencer programs for clients entertainment, sport and health and wellness.

  • You will provided strategic counsel, shape communication strategies and driving campaign outcomes end‑to‑end.

  • Act as the senior client lead and escalation point, ensuring strong relationships, clear communication, and delivery that meets brand, audience and reputation objectives.

  • Oversee execution of integrated PR campaigns across earned, owned, social and influencer channels, ensuring quality, timeliness and accuracy of all outputs.

  • Manage and mentor PR teams, driving accountability, capability development, workflow efficiency and consistent operational excellence.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance across your portfolio, while identifying growth opportunities and contributing to new business pitches.

A bit about you:

  • Proven agency or mixed‑environment experience delivering complex, high‑profile campaigns.

  • Deep understanding of online communities, industry trends and stakeholder dynamics, with proven strength in social media strategy, storytelling and influencer management.

  • A confident communicator and presenter with strong executive presence, able to influence senior stakeholders and articulate social strategies with clarity and conviction.

  • A collaborative leader who mentors talent, drives team performance, and builds trusted relationships with clients, creatives and cross‑functional teams.

  • Commercially sharp, highly organised and detail‑obsessed, able to manage budgets, navigate complex workloads and consistently deliver high‑quality, error‑free work.

  • Experience in agribusiness and sustainability will be viewed favourably.

  • Account leadership: 10+ years in communications/consulting; proven retention of large accounts and program growth.
