Job Description

Our Business Graduate Program is split into two business units – Individual Life, and Group Life & Retirement: 

  • The Individual Life team provide market-leading products and services to customers, whether they want to purchase a policy through their independent financial adviser, via one of our alliance partnerships or directly from us either online or over the phone.   
     
  • The Group Life and Retirement team partner with Australia's leading superannuation funds and employers to provide comprehensive life insurance, disability benefits, and retirement income solutions for more than 4 million Australians.   

Throughout the two-year program, you will have flexible rotations across our Individual Life or Group Life & Retirement teams, in addition to one area outside your discipline.  

For the rotations within Individual Life, you’ll have the opportunity to discover and contribute to any of our business units, including: 

  • Retail Sales and New Business 
  • Direct Sales and Marketing 
  • Customer Service and Operations 
  • Commercial Management 
  • Risk, Change & Business Support 
  • Business Management 

For the rotations within Group Life & Retirement, you’ll have the opportunity to discover and contribute to any of our teams, including: 

  • Partnerships and Growth 
  • Digital Experience and Innovation 
  • Marketing and Communications 
  • Group Life Product and Pricing 
  • Retirement Income Product and Pricing

Throughout the Graduate Program, you will be accountable for (but not limited to) the following: 

  • Taking Initiative: Demonstrate proactive behaviour by taking ownership of tasks, seeking opportunities to contribute, and identifying areas for improvement. 
  • Problem Solving: Utilise logical and analytical thinking to identify and solve business challenges, including by using technology-enabled solutions.  
  • Communication: Effectively communicate ideas, updates, opportunities, and challenges both verbally and in written form. 
  • Teamwork: Contribute actively as a member of a team, providing diverse perspectives, fostering a collaborative work environment, and supporting fellow team members. 
  • Innovation and Creativity: Generate ideas and propose innovative and creative solutions to enhance processes, systems, and experiences within the organisation. 
  • Project Management: Manage projects in conjunction with your rotation manager and/or business sponsor, including liaising with stakeholders from across the business. 
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research to assist in projects and other initiatives, taking an active interest in market and industry trends to challenge thinking and foster innovation. 
  • Customer Focus: Identify opportunities to solve customer or business issues, keeping their needs in mind. 
  • Technical Reports: Undertake research, analyse information, prepare technical reports and documents, and present results.

Qualifications

  • A strong academic record (distinction average or above).  
  • We’re flexible with the background you come from: you may have studied in a discipline such as Commerce, Economics, Finance or Marketing. 
  • A strong desire to work in the life insurance industry. 
  • A curious mind, a willingness to learn how things work and a passion for making things better 
  • An interest in roles that embrace analytical skills as well as commercial and customer focused
