Business Planning and Analysis (BP&A Team)
As a Full-Stack Engineer in IMC's Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) team, you will build scalable backend systems that power high-visibility operational reporting. This role is more backend focused (75%), with the frontend component (25%) allocated to supporting our existing reporting stack and improving the end experience for stakeholders. You will develop robust data pipelines and transform complex information into intuitive, actionable dashboards that empower stakeholders to make well-informed decisions. You'll also help us explore how we can leverage GenAI and other AI/ML models to improve automation, data-quality and generating deeper-insights.

As a Full-Stack Engineer in IMC's Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) team, you will build scalable backend systems that power high-visibility operational reporting. This role is more backend focused (75%), with the frontend component (25%) allocated to supporting our existing reporting stack and improving the end experience for stakeholders. You will develop robust data pipelines and transform complex information into intuitive, actionable dashboards that empower stakeholders to make well-informed decisions. You'll also help us explore how we can leverage GenAI and other AI/ML models to improve automation, data-quality and generating deeper-insights.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Python, Django, Celery, and ORM patterns to support financial and operational reporting.
- Contribute to the DevOps lifecycle: containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), cloud hosting (AWS), and automated deployment (CI/CD pipelines via GitLab or TeamCity)
- Contribute to frontend systems (React) on a flexible basis to ensure high reliability and availability, support new features or improve user experience.
- Collaborate closely with Trading and Business Support teams to translate key performance and operational metrics into clear, impactful dashboards that drive day-to-day decision-making
- Support our long-term AI transformation, leveraging anomaly detection, forecasting and natural language models to improve automation and insight generation.
- Engage with global stakeholders, gaining exposure to all aspects of our business and contributing to ad-hoc strategic initiatives
Your Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience using Django (or similar frameworks) and Celery for asynchronous task execution.
- Comfortable working with ORMs and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of API development, microservices, and integration patterns.
- Practical experience with DevOps tools and workflows.
- Experience writing robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Exposure to React and willingness to contribute to frontend efforts
- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience using BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
- Curiosity about AI/LLM applications and willingness to experiment with new tools. (Prior experience is welcome but not required.)
