We’re an iconic Aussie brand with a global footprint. Our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive. We’re focused on delivering the best technology on the best network — and creating a workplace where people can do their best work.

At Telstra, you’ll build a career that grows with you, supported by flexible work, inclusive teams, and a strong focus on wellbeing, learning and choice.

The Role

As a Business Strategy Principal, you will help shape Telstra’s future by influencing long‑term strategy and enabling sustainable growth across the enterprise.

Bringing deep strategic, commercial and market insight, you will support senior stakeholders and your assigned portfolio while contributing to enterprise‑wide strategic priorities. You are a trusted advisor who leads complex, cross‑functional initiatives, solves ambiguous business problems, and influences senior leaders to shape and deliver high‑value programs of work.

By translating market trends, data and commercial insight into clear strategic direction, you help ensure Telstra’s strategy is customer‑led, commercially viable and future‑focused.

As part of Telstra’s centralised strategy function, you will work across Telstra Consumer, Telstra Business, Telstra Enterprise, Product & Technology and Telstra International, contributing to strategic initiatives that define our next wave of growth.

We fully embrace flexibility and choice at Telstra. Every role can flex in different ways, and we encourage you to work where, when and how you are most engaged, safe and productive. Let’s talk about what flexibility could look like for you.

  • Set clear strategic direction, taking accountability for developing and articulating strategy aligned to Telstra’s long‑term objectives and evolving industry dynamics.

  • Identify emerging trends and growth opportunities, analysing market and industry developments and translating insights into clear priorities and strategic goals.

  • Partner with senior decision‑makers, working closely with executive leaders and the C‑suite to anticipate risks, prioritise investments and enable the organisation to pivot toward new opportunities.

  • Engage and influence across the enterprise, building strong relationships across diverse business units to align on strategy and support effective execution.

  • Present to senior audiences, communicating complex strategic concepts clearly and persuasively through presentations, written materials and scenario planning.

  • Lead and enable high‑performing teams, providing leadership, coaching and direction to internal and external teams to build capability and deliver impactful strategic insights.
