About the role
Sydney Airport is Australia’s busiest and most connected airport. Our Group Operations team, the largest at Sydney Airport, plays a fundamental part in delivering a world-class experience from kerbside to take-off for millions of passengers every year. As a Team Assistant within the Business Support Team (BST), you will contribute significantly to this mission by supporting the Group Operations Leadership Team (GOLT) with essential administrative and business support to enable the GOLT to remain focused on the key strategic priorities and objectives and delivering operational excellence throughout the airport.
As a Business Support Team Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Operations Leadership Team (GOLT) by delivering comprehensive administrative support. You’ll work collaboratively with the Business Support Team Assistants, contributing to a high-performing team that enables our leaders to focus on strategic priorities.
Please note this is a 24-month contract.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Co-manage and triage the BST shared mailbox, prioritising and executing assignments
- Execute day-to-day administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
- Provide financial administrative support including purchase order management, invoice processing, and budget tracking
- Oversee uniform orders for front-line SYD employees, including order processing, supplier management, and record keeping
- Coordinate external catering for events, team gatherings, workshops, and offsites
- Manage and reconcile travel-related expenses for the Group Operations Leadership Team
- Provide administrative support to the Safety, Health & Wellbeing business unit, including ergonomic and PPE equipment order processes
- Support calendar management, scheduling, and coordination as needed
- Act as a key point of contact and liaison between BST, GOLT, internal and external stakeholders, and wider SYD business units
- Demonstrate agility in balancing priorities and managing varying timelines
About You
- Previous experience in similar administrative business support roles, ideally in a corporate setting
- Background in dynamic, fast-paced organisations with diverse stakeholders
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- Skilled in financial software, invoice management, and expense reconciliation
- Proficiency in purchase order management (highly desirable)
- Experience supporting leaders, executives, and managers (desirable)
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Exceptionally organised, resourceful, and adaptable
- Outstanding communication skills, especially in cross-functional collaboration
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Calm under pressure, with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges
- Committed to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous learning
