Job Description

About the role

Sydney Airport is Australia’s busiest and most connected airport. Our Group Operations team, the largest at Sydney Airport, plays a fundamental part in delivering a world-class experience from kerbside to take-off for millions of passengers every year. As a Team Assistant within the Business Support Team (BST), you will contribute significantly to this mission by supporting the Group Operations Leadership Team (GOLT) with essential administrative and business support to enable the GOLT to remain focused on the key strategic priorities and objectives and delivering operational excellence throughout the airport.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced and critical position within a high-performing and complex team environment, where our BST Assistants will have the opportunity for their meticulous organisational skills, efficiency, adaptability, and collaborative mindset to shine. A strong commitment to teamwork is vital to work cohesively and successfully with other BST Assistants, to operate as a unified team seamlessly executing frequent day-to-day functions, whilst also supporting the GOLT’s immediate tactical needs and influencing long-term business objectives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Manage complex calendars and meeting schedules for multiple senior leaders, vetting invitations, resolving scheduling conflicts and aligning priorities with key business objectives
  • Coordinate travel logistics, event arrangements and internal workshops
  • Provide financial administration support including purchase order requisitions, invoice processing and corporate expense reconciliation
  • Manage and triage the BST shared mailbox, ensuring timely and effective task execution and ownership
  • Manage and process uniform orders for Group Operations frontline staff
  • Prepare agendas, presentations and information packs for internal events and offsites
  • Serve as a key liaison between the GOLT, Group Operations, internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring professional and timely communication and fostering working relationships

About you

You’ll thrive in a high-performing, collaborative, complex environment and bring:

  • Proven experience in administrative support roles, ideally within corporate or passenger-centric organisations
  • Experienced background supporting Senior Leaders, Executives or Managers in fast-paced environments
  • Strong complex calendar management and prioritisation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and financial administration systems
  • Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and a proactive, solution-driven mindset
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and in navigating competing priorities
  • Confident communicator, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and cross functionally
  • Adaptability, flexibility, curiosity and a resilient approach in response to change, with a passion for continuous improvement
