As Buying Manager across Women’s Young Fashion & Designer branded portfolios, you lead and develop a team of experienced Buyers who are responsible for shaping a clear, customer-led assortment strategy and owning its execution and performance end-to-end. You consistently start with a customer-first mindset, defining the category vision, key growth drivers and long-term strategic direction. You manage the budget for your categories and are accountable for building and nurturing strong partnerships with brand partners in your portfolio.

We are currently looking for a  Women's Buying Manager across our Young Fashion & Designer Branded Portfolios: for a 12 Month Max Term Contract.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Leading people is your passion. Alongside your key functional responsibilities, you will be fully responsible for leading, coaching and developing your team by identifying their strengths, development areas and training needs.
  • You will look after a team across various levels from Assistant Buyers through to Senior Buyer.
  • You put customer experience first, regardless of the business model we apply with a partner.
  • You will provide strategic and creative direction and will guide your teams via a holistic assortment strategy of your areas.
  • You guide your team in sourcing new brands and relevant assortments.
  • You are passionate about product and trends and knowledgeable about the fashion Industry.
  • You drive the strategy and help to identify strategic marketing & product stories alongside the Marketing & Go-To-Market teams.
  • Owning and managing the performance of the assortment, you will work closely with Merchandise Planning to drive sales and maximise profitability.
  • You take responsibility for owning and driving In-Season KPIs.
  • You influence the OTB for your category to maximise sales, gross margin and inventory turn.
  • Maximising relationships, you will build strong, trustful long term partnerships with the biggest brands for this unit.
  • You possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to take a strategic view on maximising long term potential.

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT YOU…..

  • +8 years of relevant Buying and/or business development experience at a management level, within a fast-paced retail business, ideally a multi-branded E-commerce retailer.
  • As a strong leader, you are strategic and are able to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • You understand and are motivated by the challenges of the fashion e-com business.
  • You pride yourself in your leadership skills with relevant experience leading a large team.
  • You are a Fashion Enthusiast yourself, stay informed and well connected in the industry.
  • Expertise in spotting trends and brave enough to take strategic buying decisions.
  • You have a history of successfully implementing new processes to become more efficient and customer-centric.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to be successful in the role and strong business acumen in decision making.

What we love about you… 

  • Previous experience in a Head of Buying or Buying Manager role ideally within this category 
  • Relevant industry experience ideally from a multi branded growing fashion / e-commerce sector
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a large portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and significantly grow a business
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to lead/develop a team 
  • Ability to lead and work cross departmentally to set a collaborative culture of learning to jointly achieve the required pace of growth
  • Proven experience of scaling a business
  • Experience in building commercially successful ranges
  • An acute eye for current and future trends with the ability to back your judgement
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Commercial analytical/reporting and numeracy skills
  • High motivation, independence and resilience
