Job Description
Are you an aspiring Capacity Engineer eager to grow your career? We are on the lookout for talented individuals early in their professional journey who are excited to learn, develop, and be mentored by industry experts.
As part of our Global Cloud Services team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring efficient capacity management for our systems. Reporting directly to the Manager of Capacity Management, this position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This role will be involved in

  • Managing, monitoring and manipulating the server farm behind ServiceNow cloud
  • Working directly on or with the servers to enable and optimize capacity utilization for the ServiceNow customer base
  • Enhancing processes and tools necessary to simplify and provide consistent project execution
  • Providing proactive management and innovation to ensure 100% success of ServiceNow cloud automation


Qualifications
Essential

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow platform.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and PXE boot processes.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced network troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in scripting (JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, PowerShell).
  • Incident, problem, change, and escalation management expertise.
  • Basic understanding of enterprise server hardware.
  • Experience deploying bare metal servers.


Preferred

  • 2+ years in customer-facing technical support (web products or e-commerce).
  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow asset management.
  • Familiarity with storage configuration and management.
  • Knowledge of Puppet or similar configuration management tools.
  • Coding experience (Unix Shell, Python, C, C++, or JavaScript).
  • Ability to work shifts or be on-call (starting 4-6 months into the role).
  • Experience monitoring large-scale systems and networks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
