Job Description :

Make your mark in a business where bold thinking, curiosity, and passion fuel everything we do.

At Diageo, we’re about more than iconic brands like Johnnie Walker, Guinness, and Smirnoff — we’re building a future fueled by insights, shaped by strategy, and designed to deliver outstanding performance. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Category Strategy Manager to step into a high-impact role that shapes how we go to market and partner with customers across the vibrant world of total beverage alcohol (TBA). This isn’t just a desk job — it's a chance to influence how Australians choose and experience their favourite drinks.

What you’ll do

As Category Strategy Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of our Customer Category & Channel team, translating category trends into actionable strategy that drives growth for Diageo and our retail partners.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Crafting strategic plans grounded in insight and tailored for key channels (Retail, On Premise, E-commerce)

  • Bringing category vision to life — turning insights into winning in-store executions and customer conversations

  • Partnering with sales & marketing to deliver powerful activation that influences shopper behaviour

  • Owning performance — measuring what matters and optimising what works

What we’re looking for

You’re not just a strategist — you’re a commercial thinker with a passion for data and a talent for turning insights into action. You thrive in cross-functional teams, love a challenge, and are driven by making an impact.

You’ll need:

  • Experience in FMCG, category management, commercial strategy or trade marketing

  • Proven ability to translate insights into category and channel strategies

  • Strong stakeholder management and a collaborative mindset

  • A growth mindset, always looking to innovate and improve

Why join us?

At Diageo, you’ll be empowered to go beyond. We celebrate diverse perspectives, invest in personal development, and back you to be the best version of yourself. From flexible working to industry-leading learning programs, we create space for you to thrive — professionally and personally.

Join us and shape the future of Australia’s most loved drinks — while building a career to be proud of.

Flexibility is key to our success. Talk to us about what flexibility means to you so that you’re supported to manage your wellbeing and balance your priorities from day one.

Diversity statement

Our purpose is to celebrate life, every day, everywhere. And creating an inclusive culture, where everyone feels valued and that they can belong, is a crucial part of this.

We embrace diversity in the broadest possible sense. This means that you’ll be welcomed and celebrated for who you are just by being you. You’ll be part of and help build and champion an inclusive culture that celebrates people of different gender, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation, social class, educational backgrounds, experiences, mindsets, and more.

Our ambition is to create the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products companies in the world. Join us and help transform our business as we take our brands to the next level and build new ones as part of shaping the next generation of celebrations for consumers around the world.

Feel inspired? Then this may be the opportunity for you.

If you require a reasonable adjustment, please ensure that you capture this information when you submit your application.
