The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Change Specialist to join our Australia Defence & Security Solutions (ADSS) team.

As the Change Specialist you will play a pivotal role in leading successful implementations of organisational changes within our company. You will be responsible for lifting the business change acumen across the business and enabling the execution of the ADSS Strategy.

People will be at the heart of everything you do where, you will work with internal stakeholders to understand the need and lead the business in developing and executing change management strategies, plans, and initiatives to facilitate smooth transitions, minimise resistance, and maximise adoption of change across all levels of the organisation.

The Change Specialist is a member of the Business Improvement team. The role requires a person who is a great team player, comfortable working across multiple projects, creative, driven and a problem solver. You will be flexible, highly adaptable to change, proactive and a great communicator.

This is a full time, ongoing opportunity and can be based in either Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive change strategy aligned with Australia Defence & Security Solutions (ADSS)

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define clear objectives, timelines, and success metrics.

  • Identify, coordinate, and manage business change impacts from people, technology, systems, and processes

  • Lead change initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, and adjusting strategies to stay on track.

  • Provide expert advice on change management to mitigate risks and improve delivery outcomes.

  • Drive Business Improvement Initiatives by translating the GS APAC Strategy into actionable improvements.

  • Chair the Business Improvement Committee and support integration for new acquisitions.

  • Engage key stakeholders, including leaders, enablement functions, and employees.

  • Build relationships, gain buy-in, and foster ownership and accountability for change efforts.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop tailored change management approaches.

  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand the impact of proposed changes on stakeholders, processes, and systems.

  • Anticipate challenges and develop plans to address resistance and minimise disruptions.

  • Develop communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Create targeted messages for different audiences and channels.

  • Design and deliver training programs to equip employees with the skills needed to navigate change.

  • Drive cultural transformation initiatives to foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion new ways of working and encourage experimentation and learning.

  • Support change resilience across the business and lead a Community of Practice for Change Management.

  • Establish mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of change initiatives and track progress.

  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to refine strategies and improve future efforts.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Prosci Certification in Change Management.

  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders through periods of change.

  • Confident and highly motivated, able to effectively lead organisational initiatives through change.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.

  • Proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Ability to multitask, to manage a high volume of workload and prioritise effectively.

  • Strong reporting skills and the ability to evaluate and summarise information provided.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, management, technology, or other relevant fields.

  • Experience in managing geographically separate teams and fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration and excellence.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.
