About The Role 

The Chief of Staff plays a pivotal role to ensure the CEO is optimally leveraged to achieve Sonder’s ambitious growth plan, execute against strategic goals, and provide global operational support and execution across a fast paced moving business. This role provides strategic guidance, operational oversight, and executive decision support, ensuring alignment across the ELT and company’s priorities. In addition, this role will support projects and partner with the CPTO and VP of Analytics & AI to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support the CEO and ELT in framing and positioning key topics, translating complex issues into actionable insights.
  • Assist in identifying and prioritising key business initiatives, ensuring alignment with Sonder’s objectives.
  • Provide data-driven analysis and insights to inform decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

Execution & Operational Efficiency

  • Work closely with the CEO and executive team to support the development of the long-term company strategy, including competitive market analysis.
  • Assist in the implementation of high-priority initiatives, collaborating cross-functionally with leaders and teams.
  • Oversee critical projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and driving execution.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies, supporting Sonder’s ability to scale efficiently.
  • Support executives and senior leaders in developing initiatives that address market opportunities and risks.

Executive Alignment & Communication

  • Facilitate communication between the CEO, ELT, and broader business, ensuring alignment on key initiatives.
  • Act as a bridge between leadership and operational teams, providing clarity on business priorities.
  • Support internal and external communications, including board reporting, all-employee meetings, fundraising materials, and CEO presentations.

Meeting & Agenda Management

  • Plan and facilitate executive leadership meetings, ensuring discussions are efficient and impactful.
  • Prepare strategic documentation, recommendations, and presentations to support company-wide initiatives.
  • Manage executive schedules, prioritising high-impact initiatives.
  • Ensure leadership meetings are structured, goal-oriented, and results-driven.

Executive Leadership Collaboration

  • Partner with the ELT to support key initiatives as needed.
  • Act as an internal influencer, fostering collaboration and a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee executive onboarding, ensuring new leaders integrate smoothly and align with company goals and expectations.

Special Projects & Corporate Initiatives

  • Support the CEO and CFO on fundraising efforts, strategy development, and investor relations.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that fall outside traditional business unit structures.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and problem solver for urgent and sensitive matters.

External Relations & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with investors, board members, government bodies, and industry partners on behalf of the CEO.
  • Represent Sonder at industry events, public forums, and strategic business meetings to strengthen external relationships and company visibility.

About You

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience in business strategy, finance, or executive leadership.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years in management consulting,  experience within high-growth, technology, or SaaS business desirable
