About the role

We’re looking for a detail-orientated multitasker to join our Australian Claims Team as Claims Specialist. The focus of this role is to manage Financial Lines, General Liability and Cyber claims from notification through to resolution by providing professional, prompt, and courteous service to DUAL’s broker clients and stakeholders.

This role will see responsibility for:

  • Providing detailed threshold coverage analysis and advice, particularly where there may be issues of characterization, policy interpretation, exclusion operation or disclosure issues
  • Timely and courteous verbal and written reviews and responses to broker clients
  • Working with our key legal partnerships to Investigate and determine liability, quantum and a tailored strategy for resolution
  • Establishing timely and accurate reserves
  • Where applicable, instructing, directing and closely managing key legal partnerships on claims where appropriate
  • Attendance at broker and client meetings to proactively discuss claims narrative and outcomes
  • Attendance at mediation where required
  • Discussing claims and defence strategy with Head of Financial Lines Claims and team leads
  • Liaising with third party administrators in relation to notifications
  • Discussing all aspects of past and current claims with Underwriters and providing advice on renewal and new business where appropriate
  • Assisting Underwriters where appropriate in obtaining new business and maintaining existing broker relationships
  • Engaging with multi-participant tower insurer markets
  • Participating and providing Underwriter training where appropriate
  • Providing timely and accurate internal updates and advice on your individual claims portfolio

About you

As an insurance professional with 3+ years of Financial Lines claims management experience, you will be a confident communicator who is passionate about delivering a high level of service to clients. Your people skills provide you with the ability to build and maintain relationships and negotiate as needed in tough circumstances.

As a well-organised individual, you will demonstrate managing multiple claims and enquiries with ease and enjoy working with different teams within the business to achieve shared success. You will have extensive experience in coverage analysis and policy interpretation coupled with experience in Australian litigation and dispute resolution.
