Client Development Manager

The Client Development Manager is a pivotal role within the WPP Media Solutions team, responsible for leading client development across an agency portfolio and converting opportunity into measurable growth for clients. Sitting within WPP Media's Solutions business in Australia, this role works at the intersection of media strategy, data, technology and commercial outcomes, partnering closely with agency and client stakeholders to deliver real-world results. The successful candidate will bring together technical expertise and a sharp commercial instinct to position WPP Media Solutions as the trusted partner of choice. Success in this role looks like a growing, healthy client portfolio, consistently achieved revenue forecasts, and relationships built on genuine credibility and trust.

  • Works in close collaboration with WPP Media agencies, the Client Development team, the WMS Operations team, and the WMS Product team across Australia
  • Accountable for achieving agency investment forecasts and maintaining accurate, up-to-date pipeline and revenue data within Salesforce
  • Responsible for developing and executing client development plans that strengthen client relationships both in quality and commercial value
  • Operates as a knowledge leader and trusted advisor in the cross-channel media space, evaluating opportunities for feasibility and managing client expectations at every stage
  • Plays a central role in building cross-channel solutions that articulate the WMS proposition and highlight client advantages across flexibility, scale, technology, data and creative

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in account management, campaign planning and campaign delivery, ideally within media or a closely related industry
  • Strong understanding of cross-channel media buying, market dynamics and investment strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain valuable, long-term relationships with both agency and client stakeholders
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding client satisfaction benchmarks and commercial revenue targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across varied audiences and stakeholder groups
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook, with strong presentation and delivery skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to verify information and resolve inaccuracies independently
  • Confidence working under pressure, managing competing priorities and adapting to shifting circumstances with a solutions-focused mindset

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience working within a media agency group or media solutions environment
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform for pipeline and forecast management
  • Exposure to senior-level agency planning conversations and cross-channel strategic decision-making
  • Experience articulating and positioning a complex media or technology proposition to clients
