Description

Nayax (Nasdaq: NYAX) is a global fintech and commerce enablement company powering payments and management solutions for the unattended, retail, and vending industries. Our platform connects millions of payment points across more than 100 countries, helping operators simplify payments and maximize customer loyalty. Nayax Oceania is the regional hub for Australia and New Zealand, supporting a fast-growing customer base across vending, micro-markets, mobility, and retail.

Nayax ANZ is looking for a detail-oriented Payment & Reconciliation Specialist to own the day-to-day relationship between our payment providers and our client payout process. You'll make sure every dollar that should come in from processors actually does, and every payout that goes out to clients is accurate — right amount, right fees, right timing. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and payments, and is critical to maintaining trust with both providers and clients.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Manage payment provider relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for payment processors/PSPs on settlement, fee schedules, chargebacks, and operational issues.
  • Reconcile incoming funds: Verify that amounts received from payment providers match expected transaction volumes, and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Own client payouts: Calculate and process payouts to clients, ensuring correct amounts and correct fee deductions based on contracted pricing/fee schedules.
  • Fee validation: Audit provider-charged fees (interchange, processing, FX, chargebacks) against agreed terms and flag any billing errors.
  • Exception handling: Identify, track, and resolve mismatches, failed payouts, duplicate transactions, and settlement delays.
  • Reporting: Maintain clear reconciliation records and produce regular reports on payout accuracy, provider performance, and outstanding discrepancies.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to automate or streamline reconciliation and payout workflows; work with Engineering/Product on tooling.
  • Compliance & controls: Ensure payout processes align with internal financial controls, audit requirements, and relevant regulations (e.g., AML/KYC considerations where applicable).
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Client Success, and Engineering teams to resolve payment-related client inquiries.
Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • 3+ years of experience in payments operations, financial reconciliation, treasury, or a related finance function.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing flows (authorization, settlement, funding) and fee structures (interchange, processing fees, FX).
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; comfort working with large transaction datasets.
  • Experience with payment gateways/processors is a strong plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a rigorous, methodical approach to numbers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to trace discrepancies back to root cause.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with external providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SQL or reconciliation/ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in fintech, marketplaces, or a platform business with multi-party payouts.
  • Prior experience building or improving reconciliation automation/tooling.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to make a genuine impact in a fast-growing, global technology company.
  • Direct exposure to a Nasdaq-listed group and international finance team.
  • A collaborative, high-trust culture where you own your work.
  • Career growth as the Oceania finance function continues to scale.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Annual Company Bonus & Salary Review
  • Quarterly Team Bonding Event
  • Monthly team lunch at Office
  • Paid Leave on Birthday*
  • Private Healthcare Incentives*
  • Staff Health/Wellbeing Incentives*
  • Flu Vaccinations
  • Vending Machine full of soft drinks, snacks
  • A very friendly young dynamic company
