We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

Everpure is scaling its Cloud Native / Portworx (PX) service business across APJ, and we are looking for an experienced Cloud Native Customer Engineer to support delivery and ongoing operations for our growing base of Portworx customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Sydney, you will be the primary hands-on technical resource embedded with customers and delivery teams for Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR, and modern virtualization (KubeVirt) engagements — supporting everything from design workshops and deployment through day-2 operations and break/fix support. You will work closely with Delivery Architects, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Everpure's Certified Delivery Partner (CDP) ecosystem to ensure customers get maximum value from their Portworx investment.

This is a proactive, customer-facing, problem-solving role for someone who is comfortable working directly in customer production Kubernetes environments, mastering containerization and DevOps practices, and troubleshooting complex, mission-critical infrastructure under pressure.

WHY THIS ROLE

Cloud Native / Portworx is one of Everpure's fastest-growing service lines in APJ, underpinning our broader Enterprise Data Cloud and Cloud & App Modernization strategy. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge Kubernetes and cloud-native storage technology for enterprise customers across ANZ, alongside a regional bench of Delivery Architects, Solution Architects, and a growing network of Certified Delivery Partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design and Architecture Support

  • Partner with Portworx Delivery/Solution Architects to support design and architecture workshops, gathering customer technical requirements and documenting the as-is technical environment
  • Identify key customer integration points with Kubernetes, storage, and backup solutions
  • Assist in documenting design decisions, including storage/backup workflows, high availability and disaster recovery configurations, scalability plans, and networking/security considerations
  • Understand prospects' and customers' technical needs related to their Cloud Native Kubernetes deployments and translate them into actionable implementation plans

Deployment and Operations

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx-based solutions using best practices, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts
  • Deploy and operate Portworx solutions (Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR) across customer Kubernetes environments (OpenShift, Rancher, VKS, or other orchestrators), on-prem and in the cloud
  • Ensure Portworx is correctly configured against underlying storage platforms (FlashArray, FlashBlade, or other equivalent storage layers) and optimized for performance, scale, and reliability
  • Lead API/microservices solution deployment and day-2 operations, including monitoring via Prometheus/Grafana/other Observability and alerting best practices
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows (Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) relevant to Portworx delivery

Customer Support and Enablement

  • Act as the initial point of contact for Portworx support case (break/fix) inquiries and Request for Enhancement (RFE) requests within the account/region
  • Collaborate with Portworx Support and Product Engineering teams to provide an excellent customer experience and drive timely issue resolution
  • Support customers through validation and testing of changes prior to production implementation, remediating issues identified during testing
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions to customer teams to support ongoing Portworx operations
  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with customer stakeholders and the Everpure delivery team on project status, risks, and outcomes

Delivery and Collaboration

  • Work within Everpure's Advanced Services delivery methodology, supporting Delivery/Solution Architects and Project Managers through the full engagement lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Certified Delivery Partners and customer/vendor teams (e.g., system integrators, platform teams) as part of a coordinated delivery effort
  • Contribute field experience back into repeatable procedures, runbooks, and templates to standardize delivery and improve quality across engagements
WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments; experience building and operating containerized solutions
  • Proven experience with DevOps practices and a strong understanding of the cloud-native technology landscape
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers directly, including comfort working on customer sites/production environments and communicating technical progress clearly

Technical Skills

  • In-depth experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments; proficiency with at least one of OpenShift, Rancher, Mirantis, or other orchestrators
  • Familiarity with other container orchestration platforms.
  • Linux system administration experience (RHEL, SLES, Debian, Ubuntu)
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Software-defined storage concepts (NFS, Block, iSCSI) and understanding of open-source databases/modern data platforms supporting highly available business applications
  • CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitOps, Argo, Airflow) and Configuration Management/Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)
  • Working knowledge of cloud IaaS environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and object storage management in cloud and on-prem environments
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience

Desirable Additional Skills and Certifications

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or CKAD qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ruby)
  • Virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and version control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Monitoring and logging tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Security fundamentals (SSL/TLS, Kubernetes Secrets, RBAC)
  • Experience with the OpenStorage SDK (REST and gRPC interfaces)
  • Experience with HA deployments for modern scale-out databases and data processing solutions (Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch)
  • Cloud or Portworx-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Pure Certified Portworx Enterprise Professional)

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail and strong troubleshooting discipline in complex, high-pressure environments
  • Comfortable consulting on customer sites related to complex solutions
  • Strong, clear communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Adaptability and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving

Logistics

  • Must be eligible to work in Australia; based in Sydney with willingness to travel to customer sites across ANZ as needed up to 30%
  • Contract engagement, with scope and duration aligned to Everpure's Portworx APJ delivery roadmap
