The Precision Tooling (PT) Department is based in Sydney and forms a part of the Global Supply Chain Engineering function.

Within the Precision Tooling Department, we are working to deliver high quality LSR injection moulds and automation to our internal customers using the latest industrial technology.

The CNC Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of CNC machinists and operators, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards. They will aspire to grow and develop their team to support meeting their objectives.

Working closely with the Manufacturing Management and CAM Supervisor, the CNC Supervisor will strive to achieve manufacturing goals in LSR tool stack delivery and implement continuous improvement projects such as; increasing machine utilisation, reducing error rates, optimisation of workflow and machine placement and new machine specifications.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of CNC machinists and operators in day-to-day operations, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with safety standards.

  • Provide clear communication and direction to team members, monitor performance, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing task schedules, manage work orders, and ensure timely completion of tasks to meet stack output targets.

  • Support Manufacturing Management to define program timing expectations and functional requirements for new tooling projects

  • Collaborate with the CAM Supervisor and Tool Design Manager to create and execute robust and well-planned manufacturing strategies for tooling projects.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Management to develop and implement process improvements, identify areas for cost reduction, and enhance overall machining efficiency.

  • Foster a resilient and versatile workforce by promoting a positive work environment and facilitating cross-skilling across various CNC centers, enhancing adaptability and strengthening overall performance.

  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing strategies, company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards in CNC machining processes.

  • Assist Manufacturing Management in the recruitment and selection of new CNC operator team members.

  • Ensure routine machine maintenance plans are in place and servicing carried out on time.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing data, including machine usage, tool inventory, and team performance.

  • Liaise with other teams such as Tool Design, CAM Programming and Tool Delivery to ensure smooth manufacturing delivery to quality expectations and address any issues that may arise

  • Lead projects related to the continuous improvement of Tool Stack output, quality, efficiency and cost.

  • Promote a culture of safety-first mindset among team members.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

  • Qualifications in CNC programming, Toolmaking, Machining, or Engineering preferable

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, programming, tooling, and safety regulations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Proven ability to manage, train, and develop a team in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to lead projects and delegate tasks

  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office
