Overview
ISS STOXX is growing! We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to help lead and manage the revenue-generating side of the growing Sydney-based media brands, Financial Standard and Money, which are part of ISS Market Intelligence business. This is a strategic role focused on driving the success of these brands, growing revenue and creating sustainable growth.
The Commercial Director role includes overseeing all commercial operations (including advertising sales, partnerships, licensing, business development and commercial strategy), and working across other teams such as with editorial, audience, marketing and events, and research groups. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian media landscape, strong leadership skills and a proven track record in building profitable business models.
Responsibilities
Support the head of the Media business in the development and execution of the commercial strategies aligned with company goals
Manage budgets, forecasts, and report on commercial performance; drive an annual sales pipeline and effectively monitor revenue streams and sales team
Lead the sales and partnerships team to achieve targets, providing active sales support
Leverage existing revenue streams and identify additional profit enhancing opportunities (new products, services, and events) within the industry and adjacent markets
Network throughout the Australian market to develop the client base and maintain key partnerships
Stay updated on industry trends and competitors, leveraging market trends to inform business decisions
Collaborate with teams to align commercial and content initiatives
Actively oversee subscription campaigns and strategies
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, influencers, and partners
Qualifications
Has at least 15 years of proven experience as a Commercial director, Head of Media Sales, or other senior media sales leadership role (handling both B2B and consumer media)
Has extensive experience in selling all types of media such as print, sponsored content, digital, multimedia, etc.
Track record of success in integrated sales and managing relationships with key clients
Experience and proficiency with Salesforce, media sales and analytic tools
Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Amenable to work in a hybrid work arrangement (at least 3 days of onsite work per week)
