Commercial Finance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity within our Financial Planning & Analysis team. We are currently seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team based in Sydney.
This role will lead and take ownership of the commercial finance processes and deliverables for VGW’s core brands. Business partnering with department heads across the business to drive financial performance and cost efficiencies, optimise revenue initiatives and provide actionable insights needed to support our growth objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partner with key commercial and operational leaders in Marketing, Product, Data Insights, Growth and Operations functions to provide data-driven guidance to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders to challenge the status quo and influence business decisions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Lead the planning and forecasting processes for VGW’s brands, liaising with various stakeholders across the business to finalise annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long range planning.
- Analyse product profitability and margins, drilling down into key metrics and product changes to identify areas for revenue enhancement.
- Monitor and report weekly / monthly performance against budgets and rolling forecasts, providing commentary on variances, articulating risks and opps and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Share learnings with the team, informally coaching or mentoring others in matters which you are a SME in to elevate the teams capability.
- Effective leadership and mentorship of direct reports, carving out meaningful work for them as well as proactively providing development opportunities.
What you will bring to the role:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, or FP&A, with at least 1-2 years in a hands-on managerial or lead role.
- Professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the demonstrated ability to influence business decisions and translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior leadership constructively.
- High attention to detail paired with the ability to see the "big picture”.
- Advanced financial modelling skills with exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Hands-on experience with BI/data visualisation tools preferred.
