The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager or experienced management accountant to join our Commercial Finance team based in Sydney on a full time basis. Our high-performing Commercial Finance team is responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis, information and advice to our legal and consulting business groups.
As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's market position, growth and financial success. You will be responsible for proactively for managing the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis for client-facing business groups, delivering accurate financial insights and data to inform strategic decision-making.
You will be a trusted business partner and adviser to our Partners, National Practice Group Leaders and Senior Managers to effectively manage budgets, revenue, performance and profit.
Key Responsibilities
This collaborative and dynamic role will encompass:

Financial reporting and analysis, including the preparation and review of monthly management reports including profit & loss accounts

Budget and forecast preparation with ongoing monitoring and reporting

Preparation and delivery of PowerPoint presentations to Partners and Senior Managers

Analysis of key performance indicators to drive strategic revenue and growth decision making

Business partnering with senior stakeholders across legal, consulting and business services groups

Preparation of financial documents including commentary to support remuneration reviews and promotions, annual bonuses and recruitment

Value-add projects
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a true business partner, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and integrity, and the ability to build trusting relationships with your clients through exceptional stakeholder management skills.
You will be a results-focused team player, with high attention to detail and strong technical accounting knowledge.
You will also need:

8+ years' relevant work experience. Experience in a professional services environment is essential

Experience in preparing and delivering annual budgets/forecasts

The ability to provide insightful commentary and analysis based on financial reports and data
-
Advanced Excel skills (including ability to use advanced functions such as pivot tables, vlookup's, graphs/charts, etc.) as well as proficiency in other Microsoft applications

Experienced user of Business Intelligence tools, IBM Cognos TM1
-
Degree qualified with CPA/CA qualification.
