About the role

We’re looking for a strategic and commercially astute Commercial Manager to lead key supplier relationships, drive margin improvements, and shape the future of our operational frameworks. Experience in the automotive, mobility, or insurance sectors would be highly regarded for this role. It will be based out of our Haymarket, Sydney CBD office and will report to our COO. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys owning their work while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business. As a rapidly scaling organisation, we have significant growth ahead, making this an ideal role for someone who is adaptable, proactive, and energised by working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tender management and negotiations with key suppliers (e.g. maintenance, repairs, tyres).
  • Lead margin analysis and identify opportunities for commercial optimisation.
  • Own supplier agreements and ensure alignment with Splend’s operational and financial goals.
  • Oversee property negotiations, ROI analysis, and development initiatives.
  • Drive business planning through budget input modelling and monthly trading updates.
  • Deliver insightful P&L reviews and net revenue modelling to guide decision-making.
  • Champion lean process improvements across logistics and operations.
  • Launch and manage business improvement initiatives (e.g. onsite panel repair, tyre distributor programs).
  • Model and manage residual risk across programs and partnerships.
  • Develop and evaluate new program initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to bring commercial rigour to new ventures and strategic projects.

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years proven experience in a similar commercial management level role
  • Experience in automotive, mobility, or insurance sectors is a plus
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Be highly analytical with the ability to use data to as a decision making tool
  • Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement
