The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, this senior position is responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of contracts and agreements, ensuring strong commercial governance and effective project delivery.
As the Commercial Manager, you will lead commercial planning and manage complex contractual arrangements. Drawing on your specialised expertise, you’ll solve unique and challenging problems while providing high‑level advice across the business. This role requires a proactive and influential communicator who can confidently engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
You will often manage multiple major commercial activities simultaneously, making this an ideal opportunity for a seasoned commercial professional seeking a dynamic and high‑impact role.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the development, negotiation, review and management of contracts to effectively mitigate risks and maximise opportunities
- Manage client concerns or issues in a timely and effective manner
- Contribute to negotiations of key subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring appropriate flow downs, addressing risks, and incorporating compensation provisions from the contract
- Responsible for creating and managing subcontracts, ensuring alignment with project requirements and organisational standards
- Provide support to projects by overseeing all commercial aspects of affiliated contracts.
- Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements and interface with internal business functions to guarantee and assure contract compliance
- Utilise specialised knowledge and skills to solve complex and unique problems related to commercial and procurement activities
- Evaluate and manage project commercial risks, ensuring alignment with KBR’s internal policies. This includes overseeing finance, insurance, controls, estimating, compliance, and procurement activities within the project.
- Collaborate with internal business functions to provide comprehensive support to projects. This involves interfacing with various stakeholders to address project requirements and challenges.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or Finance or demonstrated relevant professional experience
- 10+ years of experience in Defence and Government commercial management or procurement
- Demonstrated experience in negotiation and support
- Well-developed communication skills
- Experienced user of MS Office products.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
