Job DescriptionAs a Commissions Consultant at TAL, you’ll play a key role in managing, calculating and monitoring commission payments to our Retail distribution partners. Working closely with sales leaders and operational teams, you’ll ensure commissions are paid accurately and on time, while upholding strong governance and supporting decision-making throughout the process. This role involves engaging with advisers, dealer groups and internal stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters, requiring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement across Adviser Services.
In this role you will:
- Ensure accurate and timely calculation, reconciliation, and payment of commissions in line with TAL’s Distribution Agreements and payment guidelines.
- Monitor payment trends and manage data integrity to uphold governance and accuracy across all Distributor payments.
- Build strong relationships and manage complex queries from internal stakeholders and Distributors with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Lead process improvements and contribute to system enhancements to increase efficiency and support business outcomes.
- Prepare, analyse, and deliver remuneration summaries and insights for senior stakeholders, supporting transparency and informed decision-making.
- Tertiary qualification in finance or a related discipline, with 2+ years’ experience in a similar role or finance/business performance environment.
- Advanced Excel and strong data skills, with proficiency in MS Office and SQL essential.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Solid understanding of complex financial structures and Life Insurance industry practices impacting commission payments.
