We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as Community Engagement Specialist for Central NSW, in Regional NSW reporting to Head of NBN Local – NSW.

A bit about your role

The nbn Community Engagement Specialist (CES) plays a key role within the Regional Development and Engagement team, focusing on enhancing connectivity literacy and infrastructure across regional Australia. The CES is responsible for engaging with communities, stakeholders, and local organisations to deliver programs, campaigns, and events that support digital inclusion, emergency preparedness, and regional development.

The role involves executing local strategies, providing insights to influence national initiatives, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, the CES drives service uptake, and contributes to operational performance, all while promoting a safety-first culture.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate will have good years of experience in stakeholder and community engagement, preferably within regional, rural, or remote communities. They will possess strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences and influence a wide range of stakeholders.

The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a matrix environment, and a solid understanding of telecommunications developments. A valid Australian driver’s license is essential, along with a commitment to safety and adherence to organisational policies and procedures.

The role will be based in Orange or Bathurst (or within close proximity - less than 1 hour drive away)
