As our new Compliance Manager, you’ll be based at our global headquarters and collaborate with stakeholders across APAC, LATAM, EMEA, and North America. The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to support the enhancement of our global ethics and compliance management framework. You’ll play a key role in designing and embedding the framework across Cochlear’s global operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and industry best practices.

This is a critical role for a compliance professional with deep expertise in operations, governance, and framework design, who thrives in a complex, matrixed environment and is passionate about driving ethical business practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute effectively to the design, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive global ethics and compliance framework, aligned with regulatory obligations and industry best practice.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance topics, including anti-bribery & corruption, sanctions, conflicts of interest and other key compliance domains relevant to the medical devices industry.
  • Partner with business units, risk & assurance and regional legal teams to embed compliance into global operations.
  • Work collaboratively while taking the lead on projects to develop and rollout of compliance policies, training, communications, whistleblower, speak up and compliance monitoring programs across multiple jurisdictions, while taking ownership of specific projects.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and  engage in investigations, audits, and remediation activities.
  • Monitor global regulatory developments and proactively address emerging compliance risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in compliance processes, leveraging technology and data analytics for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Report to senior management and governance committees on program effectiveness, risks, and improvement initiatives.
About You

You’re a strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach and a passion for compliance. You bring:

  • 5-8 years of experience in risk management, compliance, legal, audit, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the medical devices, pharmaceutical, or broader healthcare sector, or other highly regulated environments
  • The ability to think laterally, offer constructive challenge and contribute solutions while working effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance management and governance frameworks.
  • Ideally you will have hands-on experience in whistleblower programs,  including investigating and resolving ethics and  compliance related incidents and issues.
  • Intuition and well-developed analytical skills to effectively assess and prioritise response to risk.
  • Business acumen and a pragmatic approach to solve problems to drive value-added outcomes.
  • Demonstrated contribution to the development and embedding of compliance programs in complex, matrixed environments across multiple jurisdictions,
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across functions, geographies and cultures.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgement, and a strong business mindset.
