The Opportunity:

KBR is seeking a Configuration Officer to support configuration management activities in support of the ACS CLCM maritime sustainment program based in Garden Island, Sydney.

Reporting to the Configuration & Data Manager, you will manage configuration workflows and transactions, apply configuration management principles within a Systems Engineering environment, assess and coordinate configuration changes, and represent the team at Configuration Control Boards.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering and defence stakeholders to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and control of critical asset information.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage changes required to the configuration baselines of the PBS
  • Review and examine the integrity of metadata and conduct data queries relating to verification of updates to the configuration baseline
  • Review and manage configuration changes and deviations
  • Participate in Configuration Control Boards
  • Deliver Configuration Status Accounting data and services
  • Respond to external audits and Corrective Action Reports
  • Liaise directly with members of the ACSSPO as required to execute your tasks
  • Develop good relationships with sub-contract agencies
  • Liaise closely with the Engineering Team, Ship Superintendents and Waterfront Engineers to ensure compliance with the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Under broad direction and in consultation with the Configuration and Data Manager, actively assist the Configuration Team and other stakeholders
  • Execute day-to-day activities in accordance with the Configuration Management Plan
  • Independently apply Configuration Management techniques in the context of Systems Engineering on Navy Maritime Assets, make decisions on Configuration change, and represent the team in Configuration Control Boards. Safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of those within the organisation.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an engineering or similar role (preferably within the Defence industry)
  • Experience in Stock Control and Planned Maintenance (SCPM)
  • Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems

Desirable:

  • Diploma, or equivalent, qualification in a recognised Engineering related discipline
  • Experience in the Department of Defence
  • Experience in Configuration Management Tool (CMT)/TeamCentre
  • Experience in Asset Maintenance Planning System (AMPS)

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
