The Opportunity

We are seeking a Conflict Administrator to join our New Business Intake Team to be based in Sydney.
 

New Business Intake falls under the General Counsel & Risk function, and we are responsible for the resolution of complex legal and commercial conflict problems globally. We play a key role in the development and shaping of firm strategy globally by liaising with Sector Lead Partners, Regional/Global Heads of Practice and Business Development to ensure that any new instructions are a commercial fit for the firm.
 

Please note, we cannot consider law students for this role.

What you’ll do

In this role you will be supporting the Australian Conflicts team including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with matter opening in Australia following conflicts clearance.

  • Creating, maintaining and updating strategic register entries on the firm’s systems to assist with conflict checking processes. 

  • Carrying out initial checks and research into new clients and matters using a variety of different research tools including analysis of structure charts and other materials to establish the ownership & control structure of the client.

  • Establishing and managing HSF Kramer’s information barriers globally where a conflict of interest or confidential information issue has been identified.

  • Assisting with NBI projects and other administrative tasks as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within the legal sector.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills with a variety of staff including senior partners and legal assistants

  • The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines

  • An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
