As a result of several ongoing significant project wins across the region and based on our growth strategy, AECOM’s Program Management (PgM) team are looking for a passionate and highly driven team are looking for a passionate and highly driven Project Manager/Contract Administrator who is looking to further develop their career in leading, winning and delivering program management and contract administration opportunities. This role will enable us to continue to support our current internal and external clients, whilst focusing on new pursuits to further grow and sustain our PgM and other local teams.

Working with a high performing North Queensland PgM team, you’ll either lead our local interface to key clients and develop long term relationships or have a hands-on approach with major projects across the Region, working closely with AECOM delivery teams.

Please note we will consider candidates based in Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton or Mackay. Relocation assistance to North QLD will be provided for the right candidate. 

Job Description

We are seeking a future leader with an interest in succession and long-term growth in AECOM - an individual who is looking to be continually challenged and develop their career into a multitude of potential pathways within a global organisation. Working on a range of projects, some with the prospective capital value up to, and exceeding, $150M, this role will give you the opportunity to develop and shape your career, with opportunities to travel and be mobile, and opportunities to carve a career within our supportive North Queensland offices.

Typical types of projects include – Transport and Main Roads (TMR) road remediation/upgrade and new, local government capital delivery (civil, roads, infrastructure) and Disaster Recovery.

About the role

  • Lead and deliver projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard — drawing on your strong background in contract administration and program management.
  • Drive local strategic growth by taking initiative and contributing to the development of our Project Management (PgM) capability, positioning yourself as a future leader within the business.
  • Inspire and guide teams, using your people skills to mentor staff and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Apply your deep understanding of Australian standards to ensure the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
  • Take ownership of project responsibilities, confidently acting as the Superintendent’s Representative or Project Manager across a variety of projects, liaising closely with clients and multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, with strong skills in contract administration and project/program management.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a passion for mentoring, stakeholder engagement, and growing team capability.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian standards and experience acting as a Project Manager or Superintendent’s Representative.
  • Engineering qualifications (RPEQ/CPEng desirable) and ideally 10+ years' industry experience from contractor or client-side roles.
  • Business development and transport infrastructure experience (e.g. TMR, VIC Roads, TfNSW, Main Roads WA) highly regarded.
