Consultant Gig #1034–AUS—Lending fintech—New revenue streams research consultant/senior analyst
Client
An existing ICG client (an Australian Loan-focused fintech) is seeking a very experienced analyst to perform research and analysis of new potential revenue streams across a retail lending portfolio. The client has already identified several promising ideas, and wishes to explore these fully but are open to other recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have considerable retail lending experience, as well as market sizing and take-up trajectory, and product and distribution economic analysis experience from multiple demonstrated past consulting projects.
Role

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical and research capabilities, experience in retail lending, and an interest in product development, refinement and innovation in financial businesses.
You will work independently with guidance from an ex-consultant (principal level) and lead the end to end development of each of the deep dives, covering trends, business cases, alignment to current and future revenue streams and operational requirements.
You will be responsible for the project documentation, including all client decks and any necessary internal documents covering research, project development, and others.
KEY DELIVERABLE
Expected outputs include a market scan and analysis of each retail lending space, proposed new revenue streams for the client, operational, financial and risk modelling of the new product ideas, implementation recommendations when needed, and evidence packs suitable for client presentations and internal audit as needed.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
You will have demonstrated experience in retail lending, ideally within the Australian environment.
Experience creating high-quality, insightful market/new product entry and documentation is essential.
Essential:
- Consulting, revenue or innovation roles in financial services
- Retail lending experience
Preferred:
- Product exploration and product innovation experience
- First-hand fintech experience
- Sydney location
Logistics
Start Date: To be negotiated expected mid-August 2026
Duration: 2 months (TBC)
Location: Sydney (client site based)
Working Arrangements: Full-time engagement, working closely with client team members. Flexible working arrangements. Able to attend Sydney CBD location occasionally is preferred.
Rate: The net daily rate to the analyst will be $1,100 - $1250 (dependent on experience)
Close date: No later than Monday 27 July 2026, 5pm AEST
