Primary Intelligence & Real World Evidence Insights

Location: Sydney or Melbourne

Hybrid

At IQVIA, we're redefining how healthcare decisions are made. As the global leader in healthcare intelligence, we combine data, technology, patient experiences, and human science to help healthcare organisations improve outcomes and bring innovations to patients faster.

Our Primary Intelligence (PI) and Real World Evidence (RWE) Insights team brings together custom market research, behavioural science, healthcare consulting, and real-world data to answer some of the industry's most important questions. We partner with leading pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and consumer health organisations, helping them understand patients, healthcare professionals, markets, and treatment journeys through evidence-based insights.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Qualitative Market Research Consultant to join our growing team.

This is a unique opportunity for a research professional who enjoys uncovering the "why" behind healthcare decisions and wants to expand their skills beyond traditional market research. You'll work across a blend of Primary Intelligence and Real World Evidence projects, combining qualitative insights with real-world healthcare data to help clients solve complex business challenges.

You'll collaborate with experienced consultants, researchers, and healthcare experts to deliver impactful projects that influence commercial strategy, patient engagement, treatment adoption, and healthcare outcomes. Whether you're moderating interviews, developing strategic recommendations, or translating complex evidence into compelling stories, you'll play a key role in helping clients make confident decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of custom healthcare research projects across qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies
  • Help develop proposals and research approaches that address strategic client challenges
  • Manage project timelines, fieldwork partners, stakeholder communications, and quality processes
  • Support the delivery of real-world evidence and insights projects that combine primary research with healthcare data and evidence
  • Conduct in-depth interviews, online communities, workshops, and focus groups with healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and consumers
  • Explore behaviours, unmet needs, treatment journeys, and decision-making processes
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative findings to uncover actionable insights
  • Connect research findings with commercial, clinical, and patient-centric implications
  • Develop impactful presentations, reports, and storylines for senior stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of strategic recommendations that drive business decisions
  • Present findings internally and progressively take on client-facing presentation opportunities
  • Develop expertise across healthcare consulting, market research, behavioural science, and real-world evidence
  • Work alongside senior consultants and subject matter experts on high-profile healthcare projects
  • Contribute to thought leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You're naturally curious, enjoy solving complex problems, and are passionate about understanding human behaviour in healthcare.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Psychology, Behavioural Science, Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years' experience in market research, insights, consulting, healthcare, or a related field
  • Strong qualitative research experience, including conducting or moderating interviews and focus groups
  • Understanding of quantitative research methods and data interpretation
  • Experience translating data into compelling insights and strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Strong project management and organisational capabilities
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and take ownership
  • Exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotech, medtech, healthcare data, or real-world evidence is highly regarded
