Coming into this role, you will have gained a few years of professional experience in working directly in research or data analysis for internal or external stakeholders and will be ready to take a step up in owning client deliverables. You have exposure to and ability to discuss strategy, innovation and design, and demonstrate general commercial abilities from the start. You will be asked to demonstrate skills in critical thinking, communicate and engage with Mintel’s teams around the world, display poise under pressure, contribute to multiple complex projects and lead basic projects. Candidates should be willing to work flexible hours to attend occasional meetings with a global team outside of typical work hours.

What You Will Be Doing:

 Data Analysis and Insights Generation

  • Use analytical techniques to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Comfortable working in large data sets to clean, organize and synthesize information
  • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for clients
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PPT.

Presentation Specialization

  • Build templates and slide layouts for complex research projects
  • Enhance slide layouts and formatting not only for consistency but to draw in our clients during a presentation
  • Support excellent storytelling and presentation flow
  • Proofread presentation headlines, charts, footnotes, and supporting copy (style guides and best practices provided)

Presentation

  • Assist with the creation of comprehensive research reports and presentations.
  • Present findings to internal and external clients in a clear and compelling manner, facilitating discussions and addressing queries.

Collaborating

  • Work collaboratively across several different Mintel consulting teams to deliver best-in-class custom work to our clients

Engaging with Clients

  • Communicate with internal and external clients, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty

Research Project Management

  • Actively participate in the design and execution of custom research projects, overseeing research methodologies and ensuring high-quality deliverables tailed to meet client needs.
  • Conduct secondary research, analyzing data to extract meaningful insights.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor landscapes.

Who We Are Looking for:

  • Commercially-Minded: You have a demonstrated talent for abstract thinking, spotting trends and patterns, an instinct for commercial opportunities, and a nuanced understanding of consumer insights are critical.
  • A Storyteller: You are a lateral thinker, an intuitive dot-connector, and have experience weaving compelling narratives out of disparate facts across a wide range of categories.
  • Data-Driven: You have solid familiarity with most forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge. You should have expertise working with complex data sets, including econometrics, statistics, consumer surveys, and syndicated sales data, such as IRI or Nielsen. Experience with Business Intelligence and collaboration tools such as Tableau, Looker, Jira, Miro, etc. would be a plus.
  • Naturally Curious: You are always drawn to knowing the “why” behind things and great at navigating client conversations, asking second and third level questions to get at the heart of clients’ challenges and goals.
  • An Influencer: You have experience with brand strategy, innovation, or creative exploration and the energy, intellect, humility and passion that draws people to wanting to learn more from you.
  • A Great Communicator: You are able to visualize strategic thought in evocative and engaging presentations, delivered with confidence and authority and can adapt your communication style to suit each client and internal business partner. You have extremely polished English-language verbal and written communication skills, and can clearly communicate ideas to readers in a straightforward way. You have a keen ability to explain and promote analytical output to non-technicians. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are critical.
  • A Collaborator: You take pride in the team you are a part of and the work you produce. Cultivating professional relationships with your colleagues is important and you are constantly finding innovative and unique ways to create an exceptional work environment.
  • Copywriting experience would be an added plus.
