The Role:

Ion Analytics (IONA) is looking for an Australia-based Content Editor with around 2-5 years of work experience in journalism and a fundamental understanding of financial markets. The position will be based out of Sydney and will involve editing M&A-related and regulatory news content for the flagship Mergermarket and Debtwire NextGen platforms among others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and edit key time-sensitive market intelligence and prioritize publication.
  • Ensure the accuracy of information gathered by reporters, ensuring all published content adheres to IONA’s’ coverage criteria and is relevant to our readers.
  • The role involves extensive on-the-job learning and candidates must be self-motivated.
  • Open to working flexible shifts.
  • Work independently and in collaboration with a wide team of reporters and analysts across regions.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • A passion for journalism and editing.
  • Experience in reporting and editing for financial news services, newspapers or online publications.
  • A postgraduate degree or diploma in journalism would be preferred.
  • Research editors/copy editors at business intelligence-focused organizations, news publications/magazines, credit agencies or city editors who have experience in covering market intelligence can also apply.
  • The candidate will need to work across different time zones as and when necessary.
