About the Role

We're looking for a Sydney based Business Development Coordinator to support BDO's growth priorities across various service lines, sectors, and strategic initiatives in alignment with the Clients & Market (C&M) strategy.

This role involves close collaboration with the broader BD team, C&M, and other relevant stakeholders, fostering a business development culture within the firm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the BD team achieve national and local objectives through several growth initiatives, providing insights for new and existing accounts, and helping to identify and convert leads.

Key accountabilities:

  • Plan | Development of appropriate BD objectives, plans and activity as required; support of national and local BD in their plan development for assigned growth areas; in alignment with the firms GTM framework; in collaboration with relevant stakeholders including BD (local, national) and C&M team members.

  • Action | Support growth initiatives from plans for both local growth priority areas and national strategic growth areas; support for initiatives not part of broader plans but which support the firm’s growth ambitions; in coordination with relevant stakeholders and BD (local and national) and C&M teams.

  • Key account management | Support local or national cross-service accounts as required; thought the provision of data and insights; in collaboration with the broader BD team or relevant stakeholders.

  • Pipeline development & growth | Monitoring and reporting for growth of local and national priority areas or as required; involvement in activities to assist in building pipeline for stakeholders; in collaboration with stakeholders and the broader BD and C&M team.

  • Pursuits | Support of pursuit initiatives for the firm both national and local; in collaboration with local stakeholders and the broader BD (local and national) and C&M team.

  • Lead identification & nurture | Work with stakeholders to identify, develop and convert leads; in line with the local/national growth priority area’s quality client criteria.

  • Coaching & mentoring | Provide one to many coaching/mentoring by bringing likeminded individuals together and providing/linking them to resources for assistance; actively working to create the foundation of BDO’s BD culture.

What we're looking for:

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role―or as an established business development assistant ready to take the next step―within a professional services environment.

In addition, they will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, marketing, finance, or a related field.

  • A self-starter who is organised, confident, detail oriented, analytical, and well-structured in their approach to projects and initiatives.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, and Power BI.

  • Experience in business development and client relationship management roles within professional services (would be highly regarded).
