An exciting and unique opportunity working for a leading global FMCG, with Australian loved brands including MasterFoods, Dolmio and Ben’s Original. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Mars Food & Nutrition (F&N) Australia, this role will be a key member of the local leadership team and global F&N Corporate Affairs leadership team! 

 

About the opportunity  

Leading our strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives, you'll draw on your expertise in reputation management, public affairs, and crisis communications. This influential role will see you building and protecting vital business partnerships while driving our communications strategy forward. 

 

You will lead and implement the Mars F&N Australia Corporate Affairs strategy to build and protect reputation by partnering with stakeholders locally and globally, to provide strong communications direction and counsel to the business and senior leaders. 

 

This role leads a small team, with 1.5 direct reports, as well as collaborating with Mars ANZ CA Leaders to build reputation with key stakeholders. Based at either our Wyong or Sydney location with regular travel between sites, this role offers flexibility while ensuring strong presence across both facilities. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leadership of F&N Corporate Affairs Function (Australia), responsibilities across Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, Brand PR, Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement and Consumer Care. 

  • Lead Mars F&N Australia’s public affairs agenda in the areas of health & nutrition, sustainability, industry and manufacturing policy, as well as represent the company on key industry association working groups. 

  • Drive Mars F&N Australia’s corporate reputation by leading our  corporate communications and Brand PR initiatives, aligned to our Mars F&N Purpose. 

  • Lead on strategic business communications to inform, engage and inspire Associates against our business strategy and purpose.  

  • As a member of the Mars F&N Leadership team, shape and influence the operational and strategic decision making of the business to ensure delivery of the business performance plan,  

  • Contribute to the Global Food & Nutrition Corporate Affairs agenda, focussing on delivering the global strategy, building expertise and developing great CA talent.  

 

 

What we are looking for: 

  • Several years’ experience in Corporate Affairs - particularly reputation and issues management, public affairs, brand and corporate PR and stakeholder engagement 

  • People leadership experience with proven ability to lead, develop and engage teams. 

  • Strong business/commercial acumen and decision-making skills. 

  • Experience in FMCG or CPG industry - an advantage. 

  • Proven ability to deliver to both a consumer audience and business and/or industry audience in how communication programs are shaped and executed.
