Assist in providing independent assurance of GHG/ESG information, supporting project managers, and conducting data analysis and site visits.
ERM Certification and Verification Services (CVS), a rapidly growing global team within ERM Group is a Certification, Assurance and Verification Body, with expertise in audit, assessment, validation, verification and assurance work in a wide range of ESG disciplines and sectors.
We are looking to add an enthusiastic ESG Assurance Assessor as part of our Corporate Assurance team in Australia based APAC team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing independent assurance of GHG/ESG information with multinational clients across a wide range of sectors.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day delivery of independent assurance of GHG/ESG information in areas such as sustainability reporting, sustainability-linked loans, product claims and carbon markets.
- Under guidance of more senior colleagues, undertake assurance procedures across a range of projects including media research, analytical data review, evidence collection, site visits and disclosure review.
- Maintain documentation and project files in line with independent assurance standards and internal quality requirements.
- Support more senior colleagues during client head office and site level visits.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree level education in a sustainability, engineering, business or audit related field.
- 1-4 years’ experience with understanding of assurance principles and procedures, GHG/ESG information and data, and knowledge of climate change and sustainability reporting is strongly preferred.
- A broad interest in sustainability and societal challenges with an understanding of sustainability (business) issues (e.g., governance, environment, health and safety, human rights, supply chain management and community relations.
- Knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting, for example for example ASRS, GRI Standards, GHG Protocol, ISSB, CDP, DJSI, TCFD and SDGs.
- Knowledge or experience of auditing or assurance standards used for sustainability/GHG reporting (e.g. ISAE3000, ISAE3410, ISO14064:3, PCAOB Attestation Standards).
- Technical knowledge of environmental impacts and emissions including climate change and GHG.
- Ability to support tasks across multiple projects in parallel to meet client expectations and delivery deadlines.
- An appreciation of the importance of maintaining and developing client relationships.
- Proven ability in data and spreadsheet analysis (use of Microsoft Excel)
- Demonstrable writing and communication skills good data analytics skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly and contribute enthusiastically to our growing business.
- Be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Willingness to travel for visits to client head offices and operational sites.
