The Corporate Communications Manager will lead VGW’s internal communications, driving staff engagement, ensuring consistent messaging, and aligning communication efforts with the company’s mission, values, and objectives. Initially, the role will assume a portion of the Head of Corporate Communications' responsibilities to provide parental leave coverage, before transitioning to a sole focus on internal communications. 

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement VGW’s internal communications strategy ensuring it aligns with the company’s mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Lead the development of internal key messaging and craft compelling narratives that reinforce the company’s vision, values and objectives.
  • Manage internal communication channels and activities, ensuring consistency and engagement.
  • Provide strategic and expert communications advice and guidance to internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identify opportunities and work closely with the People and Culture team and senior leadership to enhance staff engagement and reinforce company culture through internal communications.
  • Create and distribute compelling and engaging internal content, including leadership messages, newsletters, intranet updates and company announcements.
  • Assist in managing internal communications related to organisational change, incident and crisis responses and corporate initiatives.
  • Develop and implement appropriate metrics that evaluate the success and impact of internal communications to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the internal communications team on a day to day basis, providing guidance and feedback to ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent and aligned with the company’s mission and objectives.
  • As required, support broader corporate communications initiatives across external channels, employer branding, reputation management, player communications, and corporate social responsibility.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, in particular internal communications.
  • 2+ years experience in managing a small team.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
