Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business objectives through the development and deployment of innovative and effective marketing communications activities in line with global and local communication strategies, standards, and guidelines. Each day, you will be responsible for developing the marketing communication strategy and maintaining the positive image of the company and its brand and value proposition in the minds of the customers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring relevant marketing communication strategy and plans align with global marketing, corporate, and country communications strategies and guidelines.

Reporting to the Country Holding Officer and functionally to Global Head of Communications & Marketing, you are responsible for relevant external and internal communications activities in the country, including spokesperson and crisis management, ensuring positive branding of ABB in the market. 
The work model for the role is: Hybrid #hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing a country communication plan for ABB Australia, in alignment with local and global Division communications management, objectives and priorities.

  • Authorized ABB country spokesperson towards local business media to enhance visibility of ABB in Australia.

  • Leading crisis communications management including advising the country crisis task force, offering guidance regarding crises and ensuring all internal issues and crises are handled with minimum negative impact to the organization and the ABB brand.

  • Fiduciary communications duties, including mandatory internal communications.

  • Managing cascading of selective Group and Business Area content.

  • Governance of local communication channels including internet, intranet and social media.

  • Managing ABB’s participation at selected strategic events and conferences.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are highly skilled in all aspects of internal and external communications mix

  • You have 10 years of experience in Communication Management or Public Relations in a matrix style organization and in a management role
    Possess an enhanced knowledge of copywriting and editing for business communications

  • You are passionate about business partnering, collaboration and communication, with experience of managing internal and external relationships with senior stakeholders

  • You have an extensive network within the press/media

  • Undergraduate degree, or higher, in Communications, PR or other relevant discipline

  • You are at ease communicating in English
