CREATIVE CONTENT STRATEGIST

INFLUENCE® by WPP Media is seeking a Creative Content Strategist to shape and lead innovative content strategies across owned social channels and earned social (creator-led) campaigns.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity, culture, community and strategy — responsible for developing ideas and narratives that drive engagement, build community, and connect brands meaningfully with audiences.

You’ll combine strategic thinking with creative instinct, translating insights into platform-native storytelling and creator partnerships that push the boundaries of what great social and influencer content looks like.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy & Ideation
    • Develop holistic content strategies across owned social and creator/influencer campaigns, aligned to brand objectives and audience insights.
    • Translate cultural, platform, and audience trends into actionable creative ideas and formats.
    • Partner with creative, social, and influencer teams to craft campaign narratives that feel authentic, relevant, and socially native.
    • Identify opportunities for content innovation across emerging platforms, formats, and communities.
  2. Creative Development
    • Develop creative concepts, content themes, and pillars that bring strategic objectives to life across owned social and creator-led campaigns.
    • Ensure all content ideas and campaigns clearly ladder back to overall brand strategy, audience insights, and campaign objectives.
    • Collaborate with social and influencer teams to translate concepts into compelling, platform-native content.
    • Maintain consistency and quality across all content outputs, ensuring they align with brand voice, cultural relevance, and audience engagement goals.
    • Provide strategic guidance on creative execution, balancing innovation with practical delivery constraints.
  3. Performance & Insights
    • Work with data and analytics teams to extract insights from content performance, using them to refine strategy and creative approaches.
    • Continuously monitor cultural moments, social behaviours, and creator trends to keep brand content ahead of the curve.
    • Present strategic recommendations, creative ideas, and post-campaign learnings to clients and internal teams.
  4. Collaboration & Integration
    • Partner closely with social & influencer teams, as well as wider media leads to ensure alignment across earned, owned and paid activity.
    • Collaborate with media and platform partners to leverage new features, betas, and opportunities.
    • Contribute to new business and pitch development with strategic and creative thinking.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in social, digital, or influencer marketing — ideally within a creative or media agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms, creator ecosystems, and content formats.
  • Proven experience developing social-first creative strategies and storytelling frameworks.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with an eye for visual storytelling.
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and strategies to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience interpreting data and insights to inform creative thinking.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work fluidly across creative, strategy, and client teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a culturally curious thinker who lives and breathes social and creator content. They are equal parts strategic and creative, able to craft both the “why” and the “what,” and are passionate about connecting brands to audiences through authentic, creator-led storytelling. Proactive and resourceful, they have a track record of driving innovative, platform-native ideas and are excited to contribute to a fast-moving, collaborative team shaping the future of the creator economy.

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. At WPP Media, we strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested: we'd love to know how you can positively impact our team with your experience!
