TL;DR: We’re looking for a Reddit-loving Creative Strategist to join our KarmaLab International team in Sydney, Australia.

Description:

So, what is KarmaLab? We are the bridge connecting our advertising partners to the vibrant culture of Reddit. Our primary mission is to collaborate with internal sales teams to help advertisers craft effective, Reddit-first creative solutions. In essence, we're Reddit's in-house creative strategy team—an inclusive group of wonderful people with a potent mix of disciplines, delivering impactful results for advertisers in this amazing place we all call "the internet."

More about you…

First and foremost, you're fluent in internet culture and know Reddit like the back of your hand. When it comes to advertising, you instinctively understand the difference between r/FellowKids and r/FellowKidsSuccess. You'll bridge the gap between brands and the everyday magic of Reddit by mining the platform for insights and transforming them into Reddit-first creative concepts.

You're a self-starter who sees opportunity in everything. Even though we've been around for a hot minute (20 years!), we're just getting started. It might be scrappy at times and will require smart work to elevate Reddit in Australia. It's imperative that you thrive in this kind of environment and embrace a "no job is too big or too small" mentality. We're seeking an enthusiastic Creative Strategist to support our expanding sales business in the market.

Location: Sydney, Australia

What you’ll do:

  • Transform and elevate client briefs into strategies, language, and visuals that resonate with Redditors, making them engaging and actionable.
  • Design innovative ad concepts and campaigns that harmonise the goals of our advertising partners with the unique spirit of the Reddit community.
  • Craft compelling pitches and communications that capture Reddit's essence for our expanding Australian advertiser base.
  • Develop impactful deliverables like narrative-driven presentations and dynamic workshops—both digital and in-person—that convey Reddit's advertising proposition effectively.
  • Serve as a creative consultant and platform expert to Reddit's International Sales team and their clients, whether they're agencies or direct brands.

Who you are:

  • You possess a deep understanding of Reddit, its unique language, and its diverse communities.
  • You're a collaborative team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Your creativity is both flexible and boundless, fueled by an insatiable curiosity.
  • You tackle new challenges, clients, and industries with equal enthusiasm and energy.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments where you can make an immediate impact.
  • You effortlessly shift perspectives, seeing opportunities through the eyes of both the Reddit communities we serve and the brands we partner with—creating something extraordinary in the space between.
  • Your portfolio is a testament to your brilliant thinking and innovative creativity.

Qualifications:

  • Have +5-6 years of experience in advertising, PR, media, or social media.
  • Demonstrated a proven understanding of the relationships between creative agencies, media agencies, and brands.
  • Excelled at prioritising and managing multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Proficient in Google Slides, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop) is a bonus but not required.
  • Possess professional writing experience for the internet—blogs, articles, ads, or social media content.
  • Experience in media and/or creative agencies is highly desirable.

If this sounds upvote-worthy to you, please apply! We hope to hear from you soon.
