Our intelligent solutions empower lenders to know more with confidence, do more with speed, and grow with reduced risk.  As we are expanding in North America and grow our world-class team, we are seeking a Credit Risk Data Scientist or AI Engineer to join our Sydney-based team.  This role will work closely with our customers on developing AI based solutions to solve complex credit-based decisions in the SMB and Commercially lending space.


The role will involve the following key accountabilities:  

  • Designing, Presenting & documenting AI based initiatives to our clients, typically banking and risk executives. 
  • Design use cases for clients with clear objectives and success criteria, matching our AI platform capabilities and client needs. 
  • Develop data processing solutions and machine learned models to address the business objective of our clients using RDC platform. 
  • Support discovery engagement and develop prototypes to be deployed on the RDC platform for clients across new use-cases in SMB and Commercial lending within ANZ/North America 
  • Support Scaling Up RDC Data Science Tooling, RDC AI R&D and AI Collaboration with universities and AI research organisations/institutes. 
  • Support R&D in applying generative AI to drive RDC’s innovation in banking solutions and business lending. 
  • Support sales, client advisory and client delivery team to achieve expected business outcomes as agreed with our clients. 
  • Help mentor and train more junior Data Science team members on RDC methodologies and AI best practices 

About the Candidate

For the Credit Risk Data Scientist/AI Engineer position, candidates for this level of role should have 2-5 year's experience in the Data Science domain.  You will also have an advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Operation Research or Statistics, post graduate degree in relevant field preferred. You will be proficient in programming language Python and SQL. Familiarity with Pandas and Scikit-learn is required. Exposure to other languages such as R, Perl, SAS will also be beneficial. Knowledge of a wide variety of machine learning and statistical based modelling techniques is essential. You will also be comfortable working with non-traditional data sources such as transaction data, accounting data, e-commerce data.


We strongly prefer candidates with real-world Banking/ Financial Services experience within Australia, New Zealand or North America. The best fit for this role is that you are already working for:

  • A Bank or Financial services organisation within North America 
  • FinTech organisation working in the SMB domain  
  • Financial Software Company that specialises in AI
    i.e., Moody’s, S&P, Experian, FICO, SAS 
  • A Management Consulting Firm (e.g.: Oliver Wyman,
    PwC, E&Y, KPMG, Deloitte, Accenture) that specialises in model development. 
  • Knowledge or experience with generative AI is highly regarded! 

You have a broad, big-picture understanding of Credit and how it impacts businesses and can communicate with both business and technical people. You understand the challenges banks face in understanding the decision-making process behind the lending process. Strong engagement and communication skills is critical for this role. You will be comfortable engaging in conversation with Businesspeople up to Head of Data Science/Business level.
