Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.

  • Design and develop new system components or enhancements.

  • To provide software delivery services with Enterprise Java, JavaScript, cloud services including API, integration, and data

  • Provide application enhancement, upgrade, and support services for enterprise applications.

  • Provide pro-active suggestions to Tech Lead around solutions, upgrades, security improvements, and improved ways of achieving client goals.

  • Contribute at an intermediate technical level to the delivery of client solutions, delivering high quality code. Participate in constructive and actionable peer review.

  • Provide accurate estimates for the delivery of technical solutions.

  • Work with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Tech Leads to understand and elaborate business requirements.

  • Deliver appropriate levels of high-quality documentation, including designs, specification, and operational guides.

  • Contribute to technical delivery of client problem solutions, including complex diagnosis and troubleshooting.

  • Maintain a high level of technical competency and awareness of technologies, products and best practices in software development, delivery, and maintenance.

  • Work towards gaining subject matter expertise in one of more products or services.

  • Pro-actively identify, propose, and implement improvements to client solutions.

  • Provides technical resolution and advice for high priority support incidents. This includes being on-call as part of an afterhours roster of engineers.

  • Achieve and maintain accreditation or certification in relevant products and technologies.

  • Ensure that the chosen software development lifecycle methodology and operational process is followed.

  • Ensure that project milestones and commercial goals are achieved by both Organization and the client.
     

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Ideally (but not limited to) a Computer Science Degree or equivalent.

  • Broad and diversified experience in the development and integration of software solutions over a period of at least 2 years (full time)

  • Intermediate level development skills and experience with Enterprise Java and associated technologies, or JavaScript and associated frameworks, or cloud experience and conceptual understanding applicable to multiple providers

  • A conceptual understanding of modern software delivery methods including, DevOps, delivery pipelines, automated testing, and Agile. A desire to help drive improvements in development practices in house and with clients. 

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Confident and appropriate communication with all levels with internal staff and clients from junior to senior level. Presentation skills an advantage.
