As a Data Scientist at DataRobot Japan, you will collaborate closely with DataRobot Japan customers to bring expertise in data science and the DataRobot platform to help customers achieve their organization’s objectives with AI. You’ll work with clients in a range of industries on diverse use cases, and with both business (executive, line of business) and technical (data science, engineering, analytics) stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification of opportunities to create customer value through introduction and discussion of DataRobot products with product demonstrations

  • Assistance in planning, determining evaluation axes, and executing product introduction study projects (Proof of Value)

  • Provide technical advice related to model accuracy improvement and data preparation to customers after product introduction

  • Development of high-impact AI(PredAI+GenAI) use cases specific to the client's business

  • Technical and organizational support for the practical application of the constructed machine learning

  • Conducting user training and industry-specific seminars

  • Creation and supervision of the latest technical content (blogs, white papers, seminar texts, etc.)

  • Technical enablement for our distributors and customer

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science or related field, or equivalent learning experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience working on data analysis projects in the Banking industry, with some knowledge of financial operations.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in building AI models (especially machine learning models) and putting them into production.

  • Able to communicate with new and existing clients in Japanese (native, business level).

  • Able to work independently and communicate appropriately in small teams.

  • Experience in software product development and analysis using programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, etc.

  • Ability to work outside of the office (e.g., visiting clients, traveling).

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on data analysis projects in the Insurance industry

  • Intermediate level of English for technical communication.

  • Experience developing generative AI applications such as chatbots using large-scale language models (LLMs)

  • PhD/post-doctoral level research experience

  • Experience with tools required for data preparation: SAS, SPSS, Snowflake, Databricks etc.

  • Knowledge of modeling techniques such as supervised and unsupervised learning, time series models, recommendations, Bayesian models, etc.

  • Working at Consulting Company experience

  • Development experience as a software engineer

  • Experience developing simple applications in Streamlit, etc.

  • Experience in a start-up company

求められる経験やスキル:

必須要件

  • データサイエンスもしくは関連分野における学士号、もしくは同等の学習経験がある。

  • 銀行業において、3年以上のデータ分析プロジェクトに従事した経験があり、金融業務に関する知識が一定ある。

  • AIモデル(特に機械学習モデル)の構築及び実運用化の実務経験が3年以上ある。

  • 新規・既存顧客との日本語(ネイティブ、ビジネスレベル)でのコミュニケーションが可能である。

  • 少人数チームにおいて自発的に行動し、適切なコミュニケーションを取ることができる。

  • Python, R, SASなどのプログラミング言語を用いたソフトウェア製品開発経験や分析経験がある。

  • オフィス外勤務(顧客訪問・出張など)が可能である。

あれば望ましい

  • 保険業界でデータ分析プロジェクトに従事した経験がある。

  • 技術的コミュニケーションを行える英語力(中級レベル)がある。

  • 大規模言語モデル(LLM)を利用したチャットbotなどの生成AIアプリケーション開発経験がある。

  • PhD・ポスドクレベルの研究経験がある。

  • データ準備に必要とされるツールの利用経験がある。<例>SAS, SPSS, Snowflake, Databricksなど。

  • 教師あり・教師なし学習、時系列モデル、レコメンデーション、ベイジアンモデルなどのモデリング手法に関する知識がある。

  • コンサルティング会社での勤務経験がある。

  • ソフトウェアエンジニアとしての開発経験がある。
