Job Description :

Who are we?

From humble beginnings to extraordinary futures, Diageo is centred on crafting incredible stories of ambitious possibilities. From our iconic global brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Tanqueray and Don Julio, to our local homegrown heroes Bundaberg Rum, Ello and Mr Black, we are a team of pioneers, looking to lead the future of our industry and brands from today. At Diageo, you will be a chosen custodian of our brand portfolio, entrusted with building brands for consumers to celebrate with in the moments that matter. Alongside you will be a group of ambitious, passionate and innovative people, who will help you to achieve extraordinary heights. Together, you will help us create a future worth celebrating.

What will your role be?

Step into the exciting world of Diageo as a Customer Marketing Manager within our Commercial Excellence Team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of crafting and implementing innovative marketing programs that not only drive category growth but also create a win-win-win for Diageo, our customers, and consumers. You'll collaborate with various teams to bring these strategies to life, using your insights to influence shopper behavior across all channels—whether it's in bars, retail stores, or online.

You'll report directly to the Head of Commercial Excellence Glass & Digital and take charge of developing customer-led activities that align with our key strategies. Your creativity will shine as you design execution ideas that enhance both the quantity and quality of consumer interactions along their purchasing journey. With support from our Insights & Planning team, you'll dive deep into understanding shopping behaviors and barriers, turning these insights into impactful marketing initiatives. If you're someone who thrives on exploring new market opportunities and making a real difference in a dynamic environment, this role needs to be your next role.

Where will you grow?

  • Drive Business Transformation: Lead the development and implementation of our Point of Purchase vision across both on-trade and off-trade channels, collaborating with marketing teams to ensure impactful product launches.
  • Champion Category Leadership: Partner with Category Transformation Managers to create in-store solutions that tackle barriers to category growth, while also contributing to non-innovation plans that drive core strategies for both Diageo and non-Diageo products.
  • Shape Commercial Strategy: Identify and adapt global Shopper and Customer Marketing activities to meet local objectives, developing 365 Essentials and Perfect Outlets plans in alignment with our Commercial Trade Strategy.
  • Lead Customer Marketing Innovation: Transform Diageo’s customer marketing approach by crafting programs centered on customer priorities. Oversee activities from concept through execution, ensuring timely delivery tailored to specific channels.
  • Harness Data & Insights: Set benchmarks and lead measurement efforts to assess impact on consumer behavior and market share growth. Use data analytics for informed decision-making, continuously improving marketing drivers.
  • Foster Customer Engagement: Present innovative sub-category initiatives during key engagements, staying externally curious by exploring new best practices in Customer Marketing to redefine the path to purchase.

What will you bring to the table?

  • Bring at least 5 years of experience in FMCG, with a focus on commercial roles like Account Management, shopper marketing, and category management—preferably within the liquor industry.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of turning insights into action by working collaboratively with customers and internal partners to drive growth.
  • Leverage valuable experience working directly with customers or suppliers, achieving results through a 'triple win' approach that benefits all parties involved.
  • Exhibit strong business partnering capabilities with an ability to collaborate effectively and deliver successful plans through flexible leadership and influence.
  • Possess strong numerical and analytical skills, thriving in environments characterized by ambiguity, complexity, and rapid pace.
