Job Description

Scope of Position

The Customer Technology Solutions Manager (CTSM) role supports their region in positioning and presenting Expeditors’ customer-facing technology solutions, ultimately driving customer dependency through our technology solutions and systems capabilities. As part of a business development team, the CTSM creates customer program recommendations that incorporate Expeditors’ supply-chain technology solutions and promote our digital capabilities. This requires a solid understanding of Expeditors operations, operational systems, and products in order to identify and position the appropriate solutions to current and potential customers in conjunction with Sales, Account Management, and Product Management. The position’s primary areas of focus are to:

  • Be the “Expeditors customer solutions expert” for their region ⁻ Possess familiarity with Expeditors’ operational systems capabilities.
  • Be fluent with Expeditors’ customer-facing technology solutions, such as EXP.O NOW, exp.o Visibility, exp.o Analytics, exp.o Booking, OMB, Cargo Signal, Tradeflow, EDI/API, etc.
  • Understand how our customers use systems and how information flows through their supply chains.
  • Conduct training on Expeditors’ systems and customer solutions capabilities with a primary focus on Sales, Account Management, and Department Managers. Increase the field’s capabilities to discuss and present our solutions to current and potential customers.
  • Proactively communicate with the region about systems solutions for our customers.
  • Lead a region on technology marketing campaigns by hosting webinars and other events or activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Speak knowledgeably about our customer-facing systems (e.g. EXP.O NOW), internal business system capabilities (e.g. e.tms, e.dms), systems integration, document imaging, and our systems development philosophy.
  • Identify named accounts, in conjunction with regional business development leaders. Work as part of a team to focus engagement to position and implement technology solutions with those named customers.
  • Engage in consultative conversations about technology with our customers during the sales process and retention calls.
  • Together with Sales and Account Managers, discover and understand customer processes in order to recommend Expeditors’ technology solutions that are aligned with those processes.
  • Understand and explain Expeditors systems integration capabilities (EDI, APIs).
  • Be available to our business development personnel for support in presenting any of our systems solutions to customers.
  • Work in collaboration with CHQ, GEO, Sales, Account Management, and product leadership to coordinate and deliver technology solutions training for Sales, Account Managers and Department Managers in their region.
  • Communicate regionally to keep Sales, Account Management, Department Managers and DMs informed and educated about our technology solutions. This may include branch training sessions, regional web conferences, presenting at regional meetings, and participation in branch Sales meetings.

Customer Technology Solutions Manager Job Description

  • Assist with Expeditors’ technology solution responses to RFQs/RFIs.
  • Travel as required and communicate with our internal organization to develop its customer-facing technology expertise and to support solutions presentations.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Salary Requirements

  • 2+ years professional experience in international logistics
  • AUD $85K plus performance bonus
